Doug founded Victor Capital Partners and serves as the firm’s Managing Partner. Doug has more than 30 years of experience investing in private equity, including playing a role in the formative stages of three other successful private equity firms since the late 1980s. He was recently a partner of Irving Place Capital (formerly Bear Stearns Merchant Banking) from 1999 through 2015, with a primary focus on branded businesses in the industrial and consumer sectors. Previously, Doug was a founding Managing Director of Eos Partners, where he invested in middle-market buyouts. He was also an early Vice President and Associate at Blackstone Group, where he was a team member on some of Blackstone’s earliest buyout investments. Doug began his career in investment banking at Morgan Stanley in Mergers and Real Estate. He has been involved in numerous charitable and community leadership positions over the years including serving as Chair of the Board of Advisors of the University of Pennsylvania’s Graduate School of Education, as a Trustee of Greenwich Academy, as a Presidential appointee to the United States Holocaust Memorial Council, and as a board member of UJA-Federation of New York, where he is Chair of the Private Equity Division. Doug has a BSE from Wharton with honors and an MBA from Harvard with high distinction as a Baker Scholar.
